Justice for Darfur

"Justice for Darfur" is a campaign supported by human rights organisations worldwide, calling on the international community to ensure the prompt arrest and surrender to the International Criminal Court (ICC) of all the persons subject to an ICC arrest warrant for crimes against humanity or war crimes committed in Darfur, Sudan.

In 2005, the UN Security Council mandated the Prosecutor of the (ICC) through Resolution 1593 to investigate and prosecute crimes committed in Darfur since 2002. The Court has now issued three arrest warrants for: President Omar al-Bashir, current State Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Ahmad Harun, and Janjaweed leader Ali Kushayb. The ICC prosecutor has also requested arrest warrants for three rebel leaders implicated in attacks on international peacekeepers in Darfur.

“Justice pour le Darfour” est une campagne soutenue par des organisations de défense des droits humains du monde entier, appelant la communauté internationale à assurer la prompte arrestation et la remise à la Cour pénale internationale (CPI) de toutes les personnes qui font l’objet d’un mandat d’arrêt de la CPI pour crimes contre l’humanité ou crimes de guerre commis au Darfour (Soudan).

En 2005, le Conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies, par sa Résolution 1593, a donné autorité au Procureur de la CPI pour enquêter et poursuivre les crimes commis au Darfour depuis 2002. A ce jour, la Cour a émis 3 mandats d’arrêt contre : le Président Omar el-Béchir, l’actuel Ministre d’Etat aux Affaires humanitaires Ahmed Harun, et le chef Janjaweed Ali Kushayb. Le Procureur de la CPI a également demandé l’émission de mandats d’arrêt à l’encontre de trois chefs rebelles impliqués dans des attaques contre du personnel international de maintien de la paix au Darfour.

La campaña "Justicia para Darfur" es apoyada por organizaciones de derechos humanos de todo el mundo, que llaman a la comunidad internacional para garantizar el pronto arresto y entrega a la Corte Penal Internacional de las personas acusadas de cometer crímenes de lesa humanidad y crímenes de guerra en Darfur, Sudán.

Esta campaña es lanzada al año del dictado de las órdenes de arresto por parte de la Corte Penal Internacional (CPI) en contra del ex Ministro de Estado del Interior Ahmad Harun y del líder 'janjaweed' Ali Kushayb por 51 cargos de crímenes de guerra y de lesa humanidad.
